The area now known as Kentucky was once part of the great state of Virginia. Many people have heard the slogan “Virginia is for Lovers,” it’s been used since 1969 as a marketing tool for tourism. Originally there were several slogans associated with that, “Virginia is for Beach Lovers,” “Virginia is for History Lovers”  among others, but it was eventually shortened to what we’ve all come to know so well.
